BACKGROUND: 

Caywood was raised in Bourbon County, Kentucky where he grew up working in the tobacco fields and on horse farms. He graduated from Woodberry Forest School near Orange, Virginia. After studying English and American literature at the University of Kentucky, Caywood taught English and composition at Lexington Community College. He also worked as a professional writer. He then pursued a law degree at the University of Kentucky. While there, he was a member of the Moot Court Team and the International Moot Court Board. Caywood has practiced law with the firm since 1993. He lives in Lexington with his wife, Beth, and three children. In his spare time he restores his family’s Victorian era home.
